Using Pink Jeepney

PJ Links

Don’t download it just to send it. Paste the public link. We’ll fetch it and give you a Pink Jeepney link.

The long way

A file on Dropbox, Drive, S3, or R2 usually goes download to your computer, upload to a transfer site, then send that new link. PJ Links skips the download.

Their host, then ours

The file starts on their host. Pink Jeepney retrieves it once, server to server, and becomes the temporary host. After that it is a normal send: a note, a password, an expiry, burn after download. The recipient does not need to know it used to live on Dropbox.

Public only

No login. No account connection. No OAuth. Pink Jeepney never needs access to your Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, OneNote, or AWS account. If the file is not publicly downloadable, we will not fetch it.

  • Works with public files from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, S3, R2, and most direct file URLs.
  • A Google Doc, Sheet, or Slides file shared as anyone with the link is fetched as a file. A public Drive folder becomes one send with the files inside, up to 20.
  • The pull uses the same size as a normal transfer on your plan. Free 2 GB, Personal 25 GB, Professional 100 GB, Business 250 GB. A folder’s files count together.
  • A page or a login stops. A private object stays private.

On the site

  1. 01Open /links.
  2. 02Paste the public file link.
  3. 03Add a note, an email, a password, or burn after download if you want.
  4. 04Fetch and send. You get a Pink Jeepney link.
  5. 05Fetch and send to inbox. The same file lands on your own address, in the inbox, not the lobby. You need to be signed in, with a handle.

CLI and API

An agent that sees a Drive URL does not need Google credentials. It can ask Pink Jeepney to fetch the public file and hand back a pickup link.

node pink-jeepney.mjs link "https://drive.google.com/file/d/FILE_ID/view" --note "The final one"
curl -X POST https://www.pinkjeepney.com/api/v1/links \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PINK_JEEPNEY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"url":"https://www.dropbox.com/s/example/file.zip?dl=0","note":"The final one"}'

The response is link, id, name, and size. Add inbox: true, or pass --inbox on the CLI, and the file also lands in your inbox. Both need a Professional or Business key. The /links page uses whoever is logged in, or Free if you are not. The file has to fit that plan’s transfer size.
