Agents and IDEs

Agents, IDEs, and the terminal

Give an agent a key. If it can run a command, it uses the CLI. If it can call HTTP, it uses the API. Same inbox. Same link. No login to Drive.

Pick a door

  • CLI, when the tool can run node. send uploads a local file. link pulls a public URL. Either command prints the pickup link.
  • API, when the tool is writing code or calling HTTP. POST /api/v1/transfers for a file you have. POST /api/v1/links for a public URL you do not want to download first.

The key stays out of the chat

Set PINK_JEEPNEY_TOKEN in the environment, or run login once so it lands in ~/.config/pink-jeepney.json. Do not paste the key into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or a commit. If it already landed in a chat, revoke it on the account page and make another.

Where to read next

  • Terminal. Your own shell.
  • Cursor. The editor and its cloud agents.
  • Claude and Claude Code.
  • ChatGPT and Codex.
  • OpenCode and other agent IDEs.
