Agents and IDEs
OpenCode and other IDEs
OpenCode, Windsurf, Zed, VS Code, JetBrains, Aider. If it can run a command, it can send. The key stays in the environment, not in the prompt.
OpenCode
OpenCode runs in a terminal and can execute commands. Export PINK_JEEPNEY_TOKEN before you start it, or run login in that environment. Then ask it to send the file. It should run the CLI and hand back the link.
export PINK_JEEPNEY_TOKEN=pj_your_key
node pink-jeepney.mjs send ./movie.mp4 --note "The movie"Other agent IDEs
- Windsurf, Zed, VS Code with an agent, and JetBrains with an agent: use the IDE terminal. login once. Ask the agent to run the CLI.
- Aider, Continue, Cline, and anything else that shells out: same command, same key in the environment.
- A cloud IDE only works after PINK_JEEPNEY_TOKEN is set on that machine. Your laptop’s config file is not there.
When it should use the API
Use the API when the task is a script or a service, not a one-off send. Create returns part urls, start, and end. PUT those slices. Finish with the ETags. One file does not need a fileId on the finish call. The docs for that are Send with the API.
