SFTP is a secure pipe for people with credentials and a server. HTTPS is a secure pipe for everyone with a browser.

The distinction that matters

A file transfer service is HTTPS with an expiry. SFTP is what you use to deploy the website, not to send the client the logo pack. You can be fluent in both. You should not make them share a face.
