What is secure file transfer
Three wishes, and only one of them is encryption.

People say secure and mean “please don’t leak.” That can be a password, an expiry, a burn-after-download, or encryption the operator cannot undo.
The distinction that matters
Most client deliveries need the first three. A journalist’s source, or a file you would not want the host to read, needs the last one. Wormhole and Tresorit Send are built for that last wish. A cheerful courier is built for the first three.
