Pink Jeepney vs Dropbox Transfer
Dropbox Transfer keeps a file close. Pink Jeepney is trying to let it leave.

The upload is the easy part. Everyone can build an upload. The product is what the file does after that.
Dropbox Transfer is Dropbox admitting that a shared folder is the wrong shape for a delivery.
What Dropbox Transfer is actually for
If the whole company is already in Dropbox, the transfer does not ask anyone to learn a new door.
If the file only needed one trip, a home for it is a strange gift.
On a basic Dropbox account the transfer ceiling is low. Sources argue over the exact free number because the plan changed; what does not change is that the interesting limits are paid.
Higher Dropbox plans push a single transfer up around 100 GB. You are still a Dropbox customer.
Where it gets awkward
You are renting a garage so you can occasionally use the driveway.
The numbers, side by side
| Pink Jeepney | Dropbox Transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| Free size | 2 GB | Low on a free account |
| Free expiry | 7 days | About 7 days |
| Account to send | No | A Dropbox account |
| Password | Paid plans | On paid Dropbox |
| The top end | 250 GB on Business | About 100 GB on higher plans |
Read the row you care about and ignore the rest. Most people only have one complaint. Size, or time, or the account.
What I would do
I would stay with Dropbox Transfer if Dropbox is already the company hard drive and you want the least new behavior.
I would use Pink Jeepney when I want a delivery with a checkout: one link, a sentence on the ticket, a zip if I sent a pile, and a burn switch if one download should be the end. Free is 2 GB for 7 days, three times a month. Past that the plans are $9, $24, and $59.
If you will still want the file in their account next year, you wanted a drive. If you wanted it gone after they took it, you wanted a transfer.
