Pink Jeepney vs Wormhole

Wormhole keeps a file close. Pink Jeepney is trying to let it leave.

The upload is the easy part. Everyone can build an upload. The product is what the file does after that.

Wormhole (the browser one at wormhole.app) encrypts in the browser and tries very hard not to know what you sent.

What Wormhole is actually for

If the threat you actually worry about is the server reading the file, this is the honest design.

If the file only needed one trip, a home for it is a strange gift.

It is free in the way a good protocol demo is free. Files are end-to-end encrypted. They do not linger.

There isn’t a business costume. You do not get a logo, a team, or a receipt.

Where it gets awkward

You cannot brand it, you cannot see that the client downloaded it, and a huge file still depends on both browsers behaving.

Read the row you care about and ignore the rest. Most people only have one complaint. Size, or time, or the account.

What I would do

I would stay with Wormhole if privacy is the whole requirement and you do not need a paper trail.

I would use Pink Jeepney when I want a delivery with a checkout: one link, a sentence on the ticket, a zip if I sent a pile, and a burn switch if one download should be the end. Free is 2 GB for 7 days, three times a month. Past that the plans are $9, $24, and $59.

If you will still want the file in their account next year, you wanted a drive. If you wanted it gone after they took it, you wanted a transfer.
