How does Smash work
Smash, explained as a booth with a policy, not as a miracle.

There is no trick. You upload a file. You get a link. You send the link the way you already talk to the person. Everything people argue about is policy.
What Smash decided
Smash, from the French team at fromsmash.com, sells the idea of no size cap. The catch is the queue.
The mechanism is fine. The product is the afterwards.
Free transfers over about 2 GB wait their turn. Links on the free side are short, on the order of a week. You can start without an account.
Pro is how you skip the queue and keep a link up longer, around 30 days.
The policy, not the magic
| Smash | |
|---|---|
| Free size | No hard cap; queue after ~2 GB |
| Free expiry | About 7 days |
| Account to send | No |
| Password | Yes |
| The top end | Pro skips the queue |
Why you would like it, and why you might not
If you refuse to think about file size, the pitch is emotionally correct. A wedding gallery should not be a math problem.
A queue is still a queue. The person waiting on a deadline does not feel the romance of “unlimited” while the bar sits there.
If you dislike the policy, a smoother upload will not save you. The mechanism has been fine for years. The product is the afterwards.
